Films of the Future is an international festival committed to new and emerging creators, feminist perspectives, and avant-garde artistic practices from all around the world. The festival celebrates expanded cinema, experimental film, and new audiovisual experiences that push beyond traditional formats, embracing innovation, hybridity, and radical imagination. Alongside groundbreaking films, Films of the Future showcases works that challenge dominant narratives, break paradigms, and envision transformative possibilities—using cinema and audiovisual art as tools to actively reshape our world for the better.
From films to immersive experiences, each piece seeks to foster dialogue around new social and economic paradigms, providing cinema that transcends the screen to generate a positive and tangible impact in the real world. The festival invites collective reflection and inspiration in an effort to shape the future we want for the next generations and the planet.
The Film Festival's mission is to promote cinema committed to social and environmental transformation by supporting audiovisual productions that challenge norms and explore new narrative forms. Our goal is to foster an expansive and equitable film industry that reflects the diversity of society and addresses issues of climate change, sustainability, gender equity and human rights.
Priority will be given to works and directors that deal, explicitly or implicitly, with themes such as: Gender equity and women's empowerment. LGBTQIA+ stories and gender diversity experiences. Social and economic justice, new social paradigms. Climate change, sustainability and environmental conservation. Innovations in energy and technology that drive a sustainable future.
As part of our commitment to film as an agent of change, the festival will include: Equity and Sustainability Panels and Workshops: Talks and workshops given by filmmakers and experts on gender, sustainability and human rights issues. Expanded Cinema Programming: Exhibitions and immersive experiences in formats such as virtual reality and interactive cinema that explore issues of equity, diversity and the environment from a futuristic perspective.
